Welcome to the Somniaforum.

If you're here, you probably found us through one of the original threads about the city - maybe Harlan's post about the statue, or a conversation with someone who's been there. This forum is for people who take these experiences seriously.

What We're Doing

We're trying to understand a shared persistent dream location. Multiple independent dreamers have reported visiting the same city - white buildings on a mountainside, looking out over the sea. A central district with colossal structures. A statue of a figure emerging from an ammonite shell.

We don't know what this place is. We don't know why we can all visit it. But we're going to find out.

The Boards

  • Somnia: Everything about the city itself. Dream reports, mapping attempts, theories about what we're seeing.
  • Resonance: Experiments in shared dreaming. Can we actually meet each other there? Can we pass information through dreams?
  • Lucidity: Techniques for remembering dreams, becoming lucid, and controlling where you go. If you're new to lucid dreaming, start here.

Ground Rules

  • Document everything. Date your dream journals. Be specific about what you saw. Don't embellish.
  • Stay skeptical. We're not here to believe; we're here to understand. Question your own experiences. Welcome criticism of your interpretations.
  • Respect disagreement. Some of us think the city is a genuine shared location. Others think it's a collective hallucination. Both views are welcome as long as they're engaged seriously.
  • No new age woo. We're not interested in past lives, spirit guides, or astral projection frameworks unless you have something new to say. We're doing science here, even if it's weird science.

Looking forward to exploring with all of you.

This is perfect. I've been waiting for something like this since my first dream of the city. Finally a place to talk about this with people who understand.

I want to emphasize Noel's point about documentation. We're trying to build something scientific here. That means being honest about our uncertainties, not just our certainties. If you're not sure you visited the "real" city versus your own dream version of it, say so. The ambiguity is the data.

So glad to be here. I've been dreaming of this place for years and thought I was going crazy. Are we going to try to map it? I have so many sketches.

Mapping is definitely on the agenda. Start a thread in the Somnia board and share what you have. We'll compare notes.
