[14:23] <dreamwalker> Has anyone tried the new reality check technique from the forum?
[14:24] <sleepseeker> Which one? There's been so many posted lately
[14:25] <dreamwalker> The one about counting fingers - supposedly it works really well
[14:26] * sleepseeker checks the forum thread

[14:27] <lucidnewbie> Hey everyone, first time here
[14:28] <dreamwalker> Welcome! We were just discussing reality checks
[14:29] <lucidnewbie> Oh cool, I've been trying MILD for a few weeks now
[14:30] <sleepseeker> How's that going for you?
[14:31] <lucidnewbie> Mixed results honestly. Had my first lucid dream last week though!
[14:32] <dreamwalker> That's great! The first one is always special
[14:33] *** Topic changed by chanop to "Welcome to #lucid-dreamers - Discussing reality checks today"
[14:34] <sleepseeker> Yeah, I remember mine. Flew over mountains
[14:35] * dreamwalker nods
[14:36] <lucidnewbie> I just looked at my hands and they were all weird and blurry
[14:37] *** sleepseeker is now known as dreammaster
[14:38] <dreammaster> Changed my nick to match my new status ;)
[14:39] <dreamwalker> Haha ambitious! Have you been keeping a dream journal?
[14:40] <lucidnewbie> Yes, religiously! It really helps with recall

[14:43] <nightowl> Good evening everyone
[14:44] <dreammaster> Hey nightowl, we're discussing reality check techniques
[14:45] <nightowl> Perfect timing, I just discovered a new one
[14:46] <nightowl> Try pushing your finger through your palm
[14:47] <lucidnewbie> Does that actually work in dreams?
[14:48] <nightowl> In my experience, about 80% of the time your finger goes right through
[14:49] <dreamwalker> That's a good success rate
[14:50] <dreammaster> I prefer the nose pinch test myself
[14:51] <dreammaster> Pinch your nose and try to breathe - in a dream you can still breathe
[14:52] <lucidnewbie> That sounds less weird to do in public haha
[14:53] * nightowl agrees
[14:54] <dreamwalker> The key is doing them habitually throughout the day
[14:55] <dreamwalker> Then it becomes automatic in dreams
[14:56] *** Server notice: Channel registered to chanop
[14:57] <lucidnewbie> Makes sense. Building the habit is the hard part
[14:58] <dreammaster> Set hourly reminders on your phone
[14:59] <nightowl> Or use trigger events - every time you walk through a door
[15:00] <lucidnewbie> Great ideas, thanks everyone!
